One of the selling points of the newer, upgraded, and more expensive Peloton Bike+ was the inclusion of the Apple GymKit, an Apple platform that makes it very easy to pair the bike with your Apple Watch to see your heart rate and have your workouts directly imported into Apple Fitness and Apple Health. But Apple’s relationship with Peloton has always been a dicey one and a move this week by the rising star of connected fitness might disappoint users of both platforms....

Earlier this year, in a bid to improve its software roll out times, OnePlus merged OxygenOS with HydrogenOS. While OxygenOS offers a near-stock Android experience, HydrogenOS is preloaded on the OnePlus units sold in China and doesn’t resemble stock Android in any way. Soon, there were multiple reports that the company would be merging HydrogenOS and OxygenOS into one and thereby stop offering the stock Android-like feel. Now, in an AMA on Reddit, the OnePlus software team has clarified that while the company is indeed working on merging the backend of OxygenOS with HydrogenOS, it will keep both versions separate....

While revealing its Q3 earnings earlier today, Pandora announced that it will pay $90 million to labels in royalties as a settlement to play music released prior to 1972. Federal copyright laws didn’t start protecting sound recordings until 1972, meaning that copyrights of clips released prior to then are governed by state laws (via WSJ). Pandora stopped paying royalties on pre-1972 music a few years back and was subsequently sued by the Recording Industry Association of America....

A new attack has come up where hackers redirect the SMS bound for the user’s phone number to their systems. SMS Redirecting Attack: Hacker can Login to Your WhatsApp Account As per the reports by Joseph Cox of Vice, the text messages are redirected by the hacker to get the OTP of the user’s device and other information in the SMS attack. He also told that the hacker can get the access to Whatsapp account also....

Open Outlook and Click File » Options Click the Mail tab and scroll down to the Save messages section. Adjust the minutes between auto saves as well as other settings like where to save the email drafts using the drop down under Save to this folder. Just in case you still follow this old trend, which I ran into today while searching for a solution to the same problem you have/had: I think that Outlook (2010, but 2013 seems to be the same, even worse, because of the way it creates an email in the main Outlook window, not a separate one as older versions) only creates the draft when you actually close the email you’re writing, and then reopen it....

Pandora is announcing its Q2 2015 financial results today and as expected blamed the launch of Apple Music in June for low growth in listeners and an overall loss vs last quarter. While the company confirmed that it did indeed witness lower than normal growth numbers for the quarter, it described the overall impact of Apple Music as “muted”: Pandora officially reported 78.1 million monthly active users, an increase of 2% from last year, while its total listener hours increased 3% from last year to 5....

Apple has submitted a new patent application, explained in detail by Patently Apple, which could simplify contactless payments on future iPhones. Instead of fiddling with WiFi or Bluetooth pairing, a compass output could be monitored in order to determine your device’s magnetic field signature and consequentially initiate the pairing when needed. This would cut down on power and network bandwidth consumption while making the pairing process faster and automatic. The publication explained other benefits of the patent application which surfaced in the United States Patent & Trademark Office’s database:...

The foreman of the jury that awarded Apple just 5.5 percent of the $2.2B it claimed Samsung owed for patent infringements said yesterday that Apple should sue Google rather than handset manufacturers, reports the WSJ.
