The first plan is called Essential Plan which costs $4.99/month and streams play ads. It provides access to sports channels like NFL and UEFA Champions League. However, it does not offer access to the live local CBS feed.
The second plan is ad-free for the most part and is the Premium Plan costing $9.99/month. It offers access to the local CBS station, but commercials still play on the live broadcast. It also features short bursts of promotional clips about Paramount Plus’s programs.
It also has a special Showtime package under which the Essential plan prices go up to $11.99/month and Premium to $14.99/month.
Interface
It is similar to Netflix, Disney, and Peacock. A section of featured content can be seen at the top and a menu of major Paramount brands like Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, MTV, CBS, etc.
Then comes the “My List” section, where the subscriber has added movies and shows to be watched later.
Like other similar platforms, the next section has genre grouping like comedy shows, and drama. Thriller, etc. The navigation menu contains Search, Home, Shows, Movies, Live TV, News, Brands, and My List. The Movies and Shows hub contains A-Z listings for these sections, something competitors in this category don’t do. It has a unique Live TV section that resembles a cable TV grid. It broadcasts soccer games like the Champion League and Europa League. Users can find networks like ET Live, CBS, CBS News, Movies, TV Shows, Star Trek, Crime, Justice, and Adult Animation. These channels are similar to the one offered on Pluto for free, also owned by Paramount. Paramount Plus is one of those platforms that have rare shows like Sunday Selection and March Madness. The drawback faced by Live TV is that it can’t be paused, fast-forwarded, or rewind.
